Mike Chmil is a mixed media artist from Toronto, Ontario. He explores the superfluous aspects of luxurious objects and spaces through an approach that encompasses simplicity and disorder. Chmil's work brings about spaces that are non-functioning as a result of their own excess, glorifying wealth while simultaneously condemning it. Focusing in on a society that sets praise upon the excess and has seemingly forgotten the more elementary ways of existing.
